The motor clicks when it comes time to agitate. The motor bumps slightly in one direction but never backs up. The machine will spin but seems to take a little longer than I remember to spin up to speed. I get 5 Ohms across the motor and no connection to ground.

Have you tried to run the washer will out the belt to see if the motor will start in the agitation cycle?

Have you check the pump to see that it is turning freely in both directions?

The resistance reading that you are getting sounds good.
