will not agitate

I have the same problem with my Maytag Performam, Model# PAVT123AWW. It it the transmission.

Sorry I posted before I was completed.

In wash mode the agitator does not agitate in any direction? When the selector is turned to the wash mode nothing happens, only a click sound.

Washer spins fine but nothing else.

It ia a maytag Performa Model PAVT2234AWW.

I checked the pulleys and removed the agiator but did not see anything noticeable by the pulley or transmission hub area.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
