Default Whirpool No Spin Cycle... Please Help :)
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LSQ9244EQ0
Age: 5 - 10 years

Washer just stopped spinning and was making a bad noise. I believe this washer doesn't have a belt. So would the motor coupling be the problem?...

Is it hard to change out? I have the back of the washer off but not sure how hard it would be to change that part or what I'm really looking at. Very mechanically inclined, so once i know what to look for, it shouldn't be a problem..

Thank for the help

The washer that you have is a front service model.

The first thing that you should do is put the back of the washer back on.

Did you find pieces of the coupling?

Does the washer still agitate?

Here is a link to your washer model LSQ9244EQ0.

The coupling is located between the motor and transmission.

You will need to remove the cabinet of the washer to access the pump and motor to remove them.

To remove the cabinet take the two screws in the console out and flip the console up on it hinges.

Remove the two brassy looking clips in each corner.

Disconnect the lid switch wiring harness.

Open the washer lid and tilt the cabinet toward you and lift at the same time.

Place the cabinet out of your way.

Release the two clamps holding the pump on. You do not have to take the hoses off of the pump just swing it the side.

Remove the wiring harness on the motor.

Remove the two motor mounts.

Lower the motor and check the coupler.
