Hello,

I already searched the forums but didn't find a good answer. My washing machine will not spin (on it's own) on any cycle. It appears to agitates normally since it is moving when I open the door. The door switch looks OK as well.

After the cycle is complete the water is drained but the clothes are still very wet. During the spin cycle the washer hums and it sounds like it should be spinning, but when I open the door it is not.

The weird thing is; I rotate the tub about a quarter turn, put the selector back on spin, and when I turn it on it works fine for that turn. Next cycle it goes back to not working again.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

First try the spin in the different cycles.

If it still does the same thing it is likely a dead spot in the motor.

In that case the motor will have to be replaced.
