Default Whirlpool ultra 2 stops after agitation
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LSQ8243HQ0
Age: 5 - 10 years

i set my washer on normal cold/cold and load size is medium, time is set to 6.

The washer fills then agitates once it comes to the next phase marked on the dial it does nothing until the timer hits Rinse then completes the cycle normally.

I though maybe the door switch was bad but it runs the final spin just fine ruling that out.

I did some research and found that within the timer the contacts that trigger each cycle sometimes have black wear marks and need to be cleaned. I did this and found my to be the same. I cleaned all the contacts and it seemed to work for a few loads then stopped working again. So i replaced the timer and i'm having the same issue, so now i'm thinking cleaning the contacts never fixed the issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I am not sure that i understand what you are saying.

You saying that it agitates once and then does nothing?

Is the motor running during this time or is the washer quiet.

Here is a link to your washer model LSQ8243HQ0.
