Default Whirlpool top loader fills, agitates, stops
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: lsq8543JT
Age: 5 - 10 years

Morning!

My Whirlpool washer will fill, agitate...and then stop before the correct agitation time is up. Manually forwarding the center knob to the rinse section on the dial doesn't help...well, sometimes it helps, sometimes not. (turning the knob will eventually help, it just depends on the amount of time and patience required.) I can hear the timer working sometimes - most recently I haven't heard it "ticking."

I suspect it's the timer - any other options?

Thanks!

VC

It does sound like a timer problem.

Does it stop in the same spot every time?

With out touching any thing else jiggle the timer knob to see if it start.

Your model number should have one more number at the end.

The link that I am give you will only be a partial list.

Here is a link to your washer model lsq8543JT.
