Default Whirlpool Not Spinning
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: SM 8525492
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hi everyone,
I have a whirlpool which has the numbers SM 8525492 under the lid. It is about 2 years old. It will fill completely but then it spins about 1 inch and then just buzzes.... Acts like maybe the motor may be locked up or something? Any suggestions, and a ballpark how much this would cost for me to repair myself. I just can't afford a new one.

Thank You,
Chris

I am sorry, but how much more clear can I be?

The washer will fill, than will do nothing, but make a buzzing noise.

It seems as if the motor may be locked up or something.

Any suggestions? Maybe a ballpark on how much this may cost for me to fix.

Sorry thats the best I can do.

How about washer fills, washes(agitetes) thin drains, spins, then fills with water agitates again, (rinse cycle) drains & spins. Now what part of a complete wash cycle does it leave out?
