Angry Whirlpool Leaking Oil
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LSR6332KQ1
Age: 1 - 4 years

I pulled my washer out to clean behind it and there was a pudlle of oil underneath. I looked underneath and it appears to be coming from the gear box. Is there an easy fix? Or semi-easy? The washer is type 111.

The is a seal kit available for the transmission.

You should be able to in stall the new seal without removing the transmission from the washer.

Remove the cabinet from the washer.

Remove the pump and motor.

Lay the washer on its back.

The oil in the transmission is SAE 60 and is a non-detergent and non-foaming motor oil.

The transmission only holds 13 to 16 ounces so unless there is a great amount of oil you should not have to add any.

Here is a breakdown of your washer model LSR6332KQ1.
