Default Whirlpool estate spins slowly
Brand: Please select
Model Number: TAWS800JQ1
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi,

WE've got a Whirlpool Estate washing machine that seems to run fine except that it will not spin fast enough to wring the water out of the clothes at the end of the cycle when there is a full load. If there is a very small load, it seems to work ok and with nothing in it it also seems (I have no reference as to how fast it should spin) to spin pretty fast but we're going to have laundry on the line all day today for just one load.

I've got the cabinet apart but I dont know what I'm looking for at this point (not sure why I was hoping for something that would look obvious).

any help would be great.

just dropped the pump and motor, the coupler looks fine.

what else are likely culprits?

You could have badly worn clutch linings, or oil on the linings. pull the trans and look at the chrome clutch, with the linings in the centre
