My Westinghouse washer fills with water then nothing. Unit does not make any noises after filling. Lid switch seems to be working i.e. manual advance to spin and raising lid stops spin cycle. Manual advance to wash does nothing. Manual advance to spin and washer spins and empties water fine. Machine is 1989 unit. I am not near machine so I dont have model number. I looked machine over the best I could and checked electrical connections, what next?

Have you tried all the different wash cycles like delicate and permanent press?

It may be the timer or the motor.
