Default Water will not drain after washing or rinseing
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.20702991
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have a top load Kenmore 70 Series. Washer fills and washes fine. Once cycle is ready to drain, water will not leave. Machine completely stops, does not drain and no sound is heard. Tried changing to rinse cycle, and still nothing, "does not drain, does not spin, does not make any noises.

Is this the water pump ? Or can anyone make any suggestions !

Thank you !

Hi,

I would check the washer lid switch. You should be able to hear it make a clickie sound as you open and close the lid.

The swtich maybe broken or the strike that hits the switch when the lid is closed.

Here is a diagram that may help you better locate these parts.

110.20702991 Compact Washer Lid Switch and Strike

Hope that helps,
