Default Water level not working
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: WPSR4130W1WW
Age: 5 - 10 years

My washer does not fill to the to the level indicated on the switch. It fills to a level of between medium and large. When I set it to a small water level it will not spin until I reset it to at least medium level, then it will spin. Does the water level have anything to do with spinning? After reading about pressure switches I decided it might be the problem. I ordered a new switch from A-1 and put it on. I blew air thru the tube and it was clear when unhooked from the little square box on the tub. When hooked back up to the box I couldn't blow air thru. Should I be able to blow air when it is hooked up? How do you clean the box on the tub. Is their anything else I should do? Thank you for your help.

When you say it will not spin do you mean that it will not agitate?

The washer will not agitate until the water level is a least to the low water level setting.

There is likely enough water in the bottom of the tube that will make it very hard to blow through the tub.

The air pressure is force up to the switch by the water.

After replacing the hose you should put the washer into the spin cycle for at least one minute before checking the operation of the switch.

Here is a link to your washer model WPSR4130W1WW.
