Default Water Leak
Brand: Amana
Model Number: LW8203W/L2
Age: More than 10 years

I have a small amount of water on the floor after each batch of clothes go through the wash cycle. I wanted to checked the inside of the washer to see if I can determine where the leak is comming from. I can't get the top up or remove the front panel. I know this is probably simple but I am mechanically challenged. I would appreciate suggestions on how to do this. Thanks.

Here's a diagram of your washer. Maytag LW8203W Parts List

It looks like spring clips you can pry out with a putty knife and screws at the bottom.

After you get the front cover off fill the washer on a small load when it fills up, put it in spin cycle and watch the top of the transmission with a flashlight chances is that its a tub seal!!!!!!!

I had the same problem and had to replace the Hub and seal and filter. It is a tough job without the proper tools, but it can be done. Check to see where the water is coming from. If the seal is leaking, water will drip from the bolts below the tub. If you replace these parts, make sure to order Anti Seize Compound, & Sealant[Red]3M800. They do not come with the parts you need to replace.

Thanks missyabte, I think I have it fixed now. It's not leaking any more after the changes.
