My washing machine sounds like it's off track. Makes a loud clicking sound like it's not in gear It will fill in with water and when it starts to agitate thats when all hell breaks loose . I have an Admiral LNC6760B71 Machine . Do you think my agitator is going out?
Steve..
Steve it does sound like you need a new agitator. If it only makes the noise in the agitation cycle, and it sounds great in the spin cycle replace the agitator. If you want to know for sure. Take the agitaor out of the washer, and fill it up with a small load of water. If it does not make a noise, it is the agitaor, if it does you need a transmission. If it is under 5 years of age the parts would be covered on the transmission on manufacturer warranty. If you need me you can reach me at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

kayakcrzy, thanks for the response. I found my problem. The agitator is fine it was the water pump pulley. The bearings are cracked and coming apart. I have to order another pump w/ pulley part #(PS1014023) PUMP (ASPAK) .
Orderd my replacement pump w/pulley and a new belt on Friday the 22nd. of Feb. and received the parts at my door "TODAY" the 23th. of Feb.. Installed that bad boy! and no problems at all the washer sounds "GREAT" . Thank YOU, ( J.P.). PartSelect Sales Department. For your fast service.

Steve I believe the legs on the back of that washer are self leveling. If so lean the washer forward about a foot, and then drop it. If the legs are not self leveling then make sure the product is level. Also 3 rugs, is usually a load that would be unbalanced. Try a regular load of clothes and see how it works.
