Default Washing Machine - light rattling sound
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 11028932790
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Kenmore direct-drive washing machine. It makes a light rattling sound that seems to come from within the agitator (although I can't be 100% sure). It has the sound of small plastic balls rattling in a plastic can. It is most noticable during the wash cycle when the agitator is moving back and forth. How can I determine if the problem is the agitator dogs, a motor coupling, a loose part, or something else?

If the sound is coming from the agitator take it apart and check the dogs.

If the motor coupling was going it would make a loud noise.

Here is a link to the parts of your washer model 11028932790.
