Post Washing machine leaked oil, then water
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LSR8433K01
Age: 1 - 4 years

I pulled my machine out to trim behind it and cleaned a small puddle of thick oil or grease. Two days later, I noticed water around the washer. not alot of water, I was able to clean it with 1 towel. Is there a link from leaking oil to leaking water?

It sounds like you may have more than one problem.

You will have to remove the cabinet and see where the oil and the water are coming from.

To remove the cabinet remove the two screw in the end caps at the rear of the washer.

You will then be able to flip the console up toward the wall.

You will then see a brassy looking clip in each corner, release them.

Disconnect the lid switch wiring harness.

Tilt the cabinet toward you and lift at the same time and move the cabinet out of your way.

Here is a link to your washer model LSR8433Kq1.

Oil, and water is not a good sign. I think its time for a new one. If you need some help choosing the best appliance for your family, you can reach me at ApplianceEducator.com, and click on washer and dryer. Tom
