Default Washing machine drip
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: lsq9030pq5
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hey everyone. I'm new around here. I've lurked for a while and found some great info on fixing my dryer last week, saved me loads of cash, so thanks in advance.

My problem is this, my washing machine is now dripping water into the basket (I think Murphy just set up shop in my house ). I turned the water off and disconnected the hoses until the dripping stopped. Then i hooked the cold back in, turned it on, no drip. When I hooked the hot back in, and turned it on, the dripping started again. just a little drip, but enough to put about 1/4" of water in the bottom of the tub after a day or so. I am guessing, based off of some other posts, the the fill valve is worn out and needs to be replaced. I'm just not sure which part that is on my machine.... and if it's an easy enough job for me to pull off.

Any help?

Thanks,
Ken

The part you attach your hoses to is your water mixing valves, and they will drip when sediment causes the valve to stay open just enought th drip.

whirlpool.com will give you a diagram as to where the part is located. it is usually blue on whirlpools and is the part where your water lines hook into the washer. real easy and real cheap. two screws on back of control panel then flip up control panel.unhook the only wire harness you see on top, you will see two brass looking clips on each side . pop them out and lean the entire cabinet towards the front and pull away. this should make for easy access to the fill valve. usuall just one screw and a few clips to unhook. install new one and reverse the steps of breaking down the cabinet and put it back together.
