Model Number: lwd27aw
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Amana washing machine model lwd27aw. Tank, basket is leaking water at bottom.just above transmisson. Need to know how to disassable, what parts are recomended to replace. Looks like there was a kit on PartSelect that had a bunch of parts that might be what is needed to do this repair. Help! First time on this site.. not sure how things work here..If you have any help for me ... Please!

Here is a link to your washer model lwd27aw.

You will need to replace the complete hub and seal kit and the nut if it gets damaged.

The are listed under the agitator,drive bell,washtub and hub.

To take the washer a part you will work from the top.

First remove the front panel to access the screws to release the main top.

Remove the rinse dispenser and loosen the bolt in the agitator.

You then pull up on the agitator to release it from the drive bell.

Remove any water left in the tub.

Remove the drive bell.

Remove the seal and hub.

Reinstall in the reverse order.

FYI, I have an Amana LWA50AW, not sure if yours is the same, but to remove the drive bell seal you need to pry it up. It is "pressed" in place.
Remove the seal I am finding is a very vague answer/instruction.
I am writing an instruction for my seal replacement. When I get it done I will post it if that's OK with sit admin.
