Default Washer won't stop filling water
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LSR7233D01
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Whirlpool washer model: LSR7233DO1 about 10 years old. The problem: the water does not stop in fill cycle and overflow the house.
I drained the water using dry/wet vac and proceed to do some diagnostic on the unit. I set to small, medium and large load, and in all settings, the water does not stop filling. I also turn the timer to rinse and spin cycle, the water doesn't drain and continue to fill.
Any suggestion on steps to do further diagnostics/problem determination. Thanks.

Will it turn the water off when you turn the washer off.

If not check the water inlet valve.Washing Machine Repair Guide: How to Test the Inlet Valve - ACME HOW TO.com

If it does check the pressure switch. Washing Machine Repair Guide: How To Test the Water Level Switch - ACME HOW TO.com

Default Water level switch test

The water do stop when I stop the washer (push/pull on knob). Therefore, I proceeded to the water level switch test.

Testing result of the 3 terminals:

Test 1
violet/pink = 0
violet/tan = infinity
pink/tan=infinity

Test 2 with pressure blow into switch and clicked
violet/pink = infinity
violet/tan = 0
pink/tan = infinity

According to the instruction:
"for the 2 pairs that read infinity, 1 should now show good continuity (0). The pair that previously gave of reading of continumity should give a reading of infinity."
The result I got should indicate the water level switch is working properly correct?
What's the next step/test?

The timer (selector knob) is all that's left. Contacts and other parts can be worn causing the water problem. Here is a parts list and diagram using your model number. LSR7233 Parts List

I know that my water valve is defective & have a new one. How do I remove and replace the water valve?
