Unhappy Washer won't stop filling
Brand: Maytag
Age: More than 10 years

My Maytag washer (PAV2200AWW) will not stop the filling cycle. I don't know which to guess at so can someone help me? I thought it might be the water inlet valve or maybe the water level switch. Machine is only 5 years old. How can I find what the problem is?
Thank you so much

If when you shut the washer off the water stops then it is your pressure switch.

If you have to shut the water off it is the fill valve.

Here is a link to your washer model PAV2200AWW.

Smile Maytag fill level switch fixed !

Sheila. Thank you so much for your info on the "wont stop filling" Maytag clothes washer problem. It was the water level switch, as you suggested, and the machine is fixed. while I had the washer apart I decided to replace the water inlet valve also. Can't tell you how much I appreciate your forum AND my wife is very relieved that we didn't go buy a new machine. Parts were about $52 and a "Maytag Man" would have charged more than that just to look at it!! Thanks !

On the back side of the machine, where the hoses are hooked. Mine had 2 screws, a spring clamp and 4 wires to remove for the replacement. Not a hard job at all. gman648
