Default Washer won't start; rinse cycle seems OK
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.82673110
Age: 5 - 10 years

My Kenmore washer will not start on any cycle. If I select spin cycle I hear the pump start to remove the water from the drum and the spin cycle starts. However; no rinse water is provided in the rinse cycle. The valves are turned on. The spin cycle works in all cycles (delecate, normal ...)

If the timer fails in one cycle does that mean only that cycle is affected? Or a failure on one cycle fails all other cycles (i.e. won't start in delecates it also won't start in permanent press or cotten sturdy?)

Any help would be appreciated.

Take care,

Dinoburb

If your water fill switch is bad, and don't let water in, your washer won't start in any wash cycle

Thanks for the quick reply, however, I cannot find a water fill switch on the Sears parts site. Is the Water level switch performing the same function?

Thanks again,

Dinoburb

Yes water level switch. if you want to test your old switch, pull off the little hose,
at the right side of the lower part of tub. set your washer on fill, and blow into the hose, and see if motor runs, if not suck on hose and see if water starts to fill. If it is bad replace. The white round plastic water switches have a poor performance record,

Thanks Betty. I'll be checking that switch today.

Take care,
