Default Washer won't spin or drain
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LDA690
Age: 5 - 10 years

The motor runs, it agitates during the wash cycle but it won't drain or spin during rinse cycle. The belt is on and I can move it the belt fine clockwise and a little stiff turning counterclockwise. It's an older used machine and I've also noticed that somtimes when it was spinning it moves out of the spot it was in. Can anyone help?

Here's what I would check

1. Is the timer advancing? if not timer needs replacing

2. Did the transmission make odd noises before? If so trany may be dead

3. Does the spin capacitor get 110v when the timer advances to spin cycle? If not follow wires back to control panel even removing tape-you will have a break in the line.

Thanx for the information... I'll try checking those things.
