My washer (Whirlpool LA7800XP) runs normal on everything except it does not spin (tub) to dry at the end of the cycle. Lid safety switch was checked fine by bypassing the switch and did not fix the problem.
Also visually checked the motor, belts, pulleys while running and they all work.
Drain also works fine.

Sheila or anyone, please advise the possible fix.

Thanks

In your washer there is a part called the basket drive assembly.

As the name suggests it drives the basket or tub in the spin cycle. If this is getting worn out this could also cause your problem.

Here is a picture of a basket drive exploded view.

There may be some confusion with the model and make of your washer.

Can you clearify.

Thanks for Glen and Sheila's input.
My Whirlpool washer (LA7800XP) is a belt driven 21 years old machine.
Everything operates well - it agitates, drains, sprays and the timer completes the entire cycle, but does not spin (tub) to dry at the end of the cycle. Timer works fine. I don't think it has a spin switch. But I do see I have a wig wag control magnet which houses 2 separate solenoid coils. Just don't know how to fix it.

Thank you for the clarification.

The picture of the basket drive I sent you is for your washer.

This is the most likely cause of your problem considering the age of the washer.

The wig wag would not cause this problem. If the spin solenoid was not working the washer would not try to spin at all.
The other solenoid controls the agitate.

My washer does not spin at all, only agitate. Doesn't it match the wig wag assy fauty spin solenoid problem? How to check the solenoid coil good or bad?

Sorry, I misread your problem.

Yes this does sound like your wigwag.

If you don't have a meter put the wires to the spin solenoid on the agitate solenoid.

Then put the washer timer on the wash cycle. If it spin then you know it is the wigwag.
