Default Washer won't drain after wash cycle
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.83870120
Age: 5 - 10 years

[b]After the wash cycle my washer just died. It's now full of soapy water that won't drain. I've manually turned the knob through all the cycles and the only thing it will do is agitate. The Trouble Shooting chart on the lid suggests the obvious, like checking that it's plugged in, checking the circuit breaker, etc. Those are all good. But it also lists "Suds lock. Caused by too much detergent. Rewash without detergent." Umm, can't rewash when it's already full. We bought it used from a guy who repairs and resells old appliances. Would it be worth getting it fixed or just buying a new one? And, how do I get all that water out of the tub?

You can drain the washer by lower the hose down toward the floor while holding it in a bucket. Raising the hose back up will stop the water.

If the motor will not run to drain the water it could be the timer contacts.

Is this a Canadian model?

Don't know it's country of origin. My neighbor did a temporary fix on the lid "thingy". When u shut the lid it gets pushed down to make the washer drain and spin and stuff. It was cracked and he glued it. It held for a couple more loads then broke again but the piece is still intact. I'm just going to buy a new washer.

sounds to me like it's got a broken lid switch.
If it washes but motor will not run in the spin, usually the lid switch assembly.
