Default Washer wont drain
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: gsx9885jq0
Age: 1 - 4 years

Washer quit in midcycle, left full of water. Error code- F4 was displayed which Whirlpool told me was a recirculation pressure switch.

Tried resetting and going straight to a spin cycle, but that didn't work.

I've tried looking up the part, but it apparently recirculation pressure switch wasnt the correct part name. There are several switches on this machine and I dont know which is the right one or even where it's located.

Does someone know where this switch might be located and the correct name?

Thanks!

This is call the pressure transducer.

Was there a lot of suds in the washer when it stopped?

Here is a link to your washer model gsx9885jq0.

No, there weren't any suds in the washer at the time that it quit. It had finished the wash cycle and drained fine. It was during the rinse cycle that it quit. I pressed the pause/cancel button twice and tried just selecting the spin cycle to drain the washer, but that did not work. It would make a medium "click or thud" type sound and nothing further would happen. If I pressed the pause/cancel button again to stop the timer, the sound would be repeated.

The transducer should fix your problem.
