Default Washer won't agitate
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: PAV2300
Age: 5 - 10 years
Can anyone help?

My Maytag top load washing machine won't agitate under load and makes a nasty growling noise. I suspect a spline or gear is stripped. I tore it down took the inner bowl out. Belt is in tact and tensioned. It spins cycles fine.

Any ideas? How do I get it apart further?

This may be a problem with the agitator.

Is there something stuck under the agitator?
