Default Washer will not spin
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 72691600
Age: More than 10 years

Washer agitates, drains, but when in Spin cycle, I just hear a slight hum and grind. Need to know if it's easy to repair or too expensive for this age washer. Model 72691600 Serial 063209672 Stock 26916

The first thing to check is the lid switch.

If the lid switch is good you will have to take the back panel off the washer and see if the solenoid for the spin is engaging.

The wiring diagram on the back panel will help you determine which solenoid is for the spin. If I remember correctly the one with the yellow and white is for the spin.

If the solenoid is not engaging it is either a broken wire or the part know a the wigwag.

If the solenoid is engaging but the basket drive is not the repair would not be worth your while due to the age of the washer.

Here is the wigwag.

Here is a list of parts for your washer model 11072691600.
