The first thing to check is the lid switch.
If the lid switch is good you will have to take the back panel off the washer and see if the solenoid for the spin is engaging.
The wiring diagram on the back panel will help you determine which solenoid is for the spin. If I remember correctly the one with the yellow and white is for the spin.
If the solenoid is not engaging it is either a broken wire or the part know a the wigwag.
If the solenoid is engaging but the basket drive is not the repair would not be worth your while due to the age of the washer.
