My Frigidaire washer will not spin in the final spin cycle. Will drain the water though. Have replaced the belt because it was very worn, however, that did not help. Also, there is a strong burning rubber smell coming from the machine. Please help.

Remove the belt and see if the motor will run in both directions.

Check and make sure that the idler pulley will turn freely.

Try the timer in on different settings.
