Default Washer will begin cycle and then stop
Brand: Roper
Model Number: A9700
Age: More than 10 years

I am trying to get my washer to work.... Whatever cycle you set it at the washer will begin to start the cycle and then shut off after about a minute of working. When you being the wash cycle is will begin to fill up and then stop. Same during the rinse ect. I opened it up and everything looks to be alright nothing broke or missing. My friend and I moved it out of storage a month ago and installed when I found out it didn't work. The water extraction system has been replaced several years ago. Pleae help a Newbie out my clothes are begining to stink!

You might have a missing or burnt motor wire or something. If you can get an amprobe, measure the motor current, probably very high and the motor cuts out on it's thermal overload. If so look for something jaming the pump. If ok, remove motor and turn coupler on tranny clockwise for spin, counterclockwise for agitate. If very hard to turn in agitate, you probably have a bad tranny.
