Angry Washer vibrates and bangs on spin cycle
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.20932991
Age: 5 - 10 years

After replacing the drive motor coupling the machine spins, but it shakes a lot during the spin cycle. Near then end of the spin cycle the machine starts to bang! I've check the suspension plate and it is seated properly. The three suspension springs are attached and also the back balance spring is attached. I checked the 3 base pads and the 3 support pads. They all look good! The machine is level. I don't know where to look next!!!

Make sure that the pad are clean.

When you move the tub does it center itself when you let it go?

Here is a link to the parts of your washer model 110.20932991.

Try running the washer in the spin cycle with the cabinet off to see if you can see what is going on.

With the cabinet on make sure the washer is level.

Let me see if I can help you here. What I would like you to do is put the washer in spin to make sure the water is out. When that is done, open the lid, and grab the agitator, and shake the tub from back to front, you should hear a water sloshing type of noise. If you do, the tub cover is OK. The tub cover has water in it, that is sealed. It is used for counter balance. The other thing I would like you to check is the rear spring. Pull the washer away from the wall, and unplug it, and go underneath and look directly center on the back panel, behind the tub, and there should be a spring attached to the base. If not find it and attach it. One of those should be your proble. I can be reached at T. PAONE's APPLIANCE SALES & SERVICE GUIDE Good Luck Tom
