My Inglis washer thumps when spin cycle is complete. The thump sound varies depending the load size. It is louder on a light load and with larger loads it is quieter. The machine has 4 springs at the bottom and the balancing ring is 2/3 rds full of water. The machine is level. I do notice that the drum leans toward the back of the machine when empty. I hope this is enough info.

Hi Sheila
The model number is correct. I was told to go to Whirlpool Parts Online and found the parts diagrams for that model IE 48000. After looking at the diagram I'm thinking that it is the brakes causing my problem. I realize I'm only a layman doing this but I would like a tech's thoughts on this problem. You may have a broken spring if the tub is leaning.

If the tub is leaning it would thump.
