I am having trouble with a washer that will not shut off waterflow. I was told to replace water inlet valve, but that hasn' t helped. Water has to be shut off completely or washer fills and overflows when operating and also when sitting empty. I would appreciate all advice. Thanks

Perhaps some small pieces of trash in the water have stopped the solenoid valves at the water inlet valve from closing. Is it the hot and cold water? Is it full flow or trickle? Can you hear the valve clicking when you cut it off with the switch?

It is a full flow of water. I hear no clicking or any other sounds. It is a flood unless I keep the water cut off at the point of supply.{where the water comes out of the pipes in the wall}. It does not matter if the washer is operating or not operating. I hope you can help me. Thanks for replying.
