Default Washer starts like normal, though stops half way through.
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FTF530ES0
Age: 1 - 4 years

My washer stops half way through the regular cycle. It also happens in the delicates cycle. It will fill with water. It is a front loader, so next it spins one way, stops and spins the other way for quite a few times. It then drains, spins some more. Then it picks up speed really fast and spins....spins a little more slowly. . . . then it is finished. (that lasted about 10 minutes). Then . . . Nothing happens. According to the timer, it is only half way done, the door lock light stays on, a quiet buzz comes on and doesn't stop. The clothes were still quite wet and they were not clean at all. I could still smell where I had sprayed stain remover.

I try it again from the beginning and it does exactly the same thing. It stops in exactly the same place. Just so you know, the same day that this happened, we had a problem with the fact that when the laundry drained into the tubs next to it....and pumped up from the basement to leave the house....the water ended up going into our kitchen sinks up stairs, causing them to overflow.

Any suggestions of what this could be? We had a plumber come and tell us that the pump going upstairs was clogged. They unclogged it, and the water in the sinks went down. That is when we noticed that the washer was not working after half way through the cycle.

Is the buzzing coming from the lower right side?

Check and see if the washer is pumping all the water out.

You may have something stuck in the pump.

Here is a link to your washer model FTF530ES0.
