Cool Washer squeaks and smells
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FWX445LBS4
Age: More than 10 years
My washing machine started to make a high squeaking noise and smelled like burnt rubber during the spin cycle. It did agitate and finish the load though. Any suggestions as to what it may be or where to start looking?

Check the idler pulley to see that it is moving freely.

Check the belt for wear.

Sheila, Thank you so much for your reply! Since my dryer went out the same day as my washer, I just went ahead and bought a new washer and dryer. I appreciate your help though!
