Default Washer spins but won't spin fast
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MAV5920EWW
Age: 1 - 4 years

My washer will spin but it won't spin fast enough to get all the water out and when the cycle is completed the clothes are still wet. I have removed some panels and the motor moves freely, the belt is in good shape, there is no visable signs of mechanical failer ie. metal shavings, everything turns freely and there is no grinding sounds or bearing failure. The water pump is working and pumps all the water out of the tub very quickly at the begining of the spin cycle. The thrush bearing is lubricated and good, also the plastic part below the thrush washer has all its teeth and is ok. The washer will cycle through all the steps and it agitates very well. There are no fault codes when you enter the control switch into service mode. The tub only spins at around 100-120 rpm and won't get any faster. While it is spinning I reached inside the tub and grabbed the agitater to try to stop it. It jerks back and for and I can't stop it but the tub will slow down and quit spinning when I do this. As soon as I let go of the agitater then the tub takes off to spining at its slow rpm again. I am now stumped and think this might be a electrical problem instead of mechanical. Any help or advise greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have taken off the top and checked for any socks or something in between the tub and the tub liner and it is clean. I can't find anything that would slow the tub from spinning at a faster rpm. ANY SUGGESTIONS, PLEASE HELP.
