Default Washer sounds like airplane engine on spin cycle
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: HAV2360AWW
Age: 1 - 4 years

For the past few weeks my washer hasn't been draining completely on the spin cycle, and today it was working fine, but when it got to the spin cycles, it sounded exactly like a jackhammer. It is still spinning and working okay, but making that horrible loud sound. Is this something that I can repair myself, or is this going to be an expensive repair?

Do you mean that is banging on the sides as it is spinning?

Here is a link to your washer model HAV2360AWW.

No, it wasn't banging. We had a Maytag repair person come and take a look at it and in case anyone else is having this same problem, it turned out to be the pump. They replaced it with a new one and it cost $140, not counting the $60 service fee from the repair company. Now it works great, took about 30 minutes to fix.

Default I have the same problem, but...

I am having the problem with the washer sounding like the airplane so I plan on replacing the pump, but prior to the drum has been banging against the cabinet.

Does anyone know the cause of this?

Will replacing the belt fix it?
