Default Washer is smoking and smells like burning rubber
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LA5558SXSWO
Age: 5 - 10 years
I just bought a used washer and hooked it up. It ran fine for about 10 minutes. I then noticed that it smelled like burning rubber, soon after smoke started to come out of the vents at the top of the back. Any ideas

Can you please verify your model number as I can't locate it in our database.

Did the washer make any abnormal noise before it started to smoke?
