Angry Washer rinses and spins but all the water is still in the tub
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: llt7144bq0
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi...I'm new to the forum and very thankful its here. I washed a load or two yesterday...popped my towels in and here started the problem. The washer will go thru its cycle..actually when I first noticed the problem it was stuck..with a tub full of water and it wouldn't start any cycle no matter what I changed the know to. My son opened the door to the dryer and it slammed shut which coincidentally started the washer again. However...now the washer will rinse and spin and the water is still left in the tub and we had to siphon the water out. We called the landlady who just commented that it might be the pump and a few other things I didn't want to hear so here I am....anyone think its the pump or the motor which is where I am leaning. We could smell some burnt rubber when we were fiddling with it. So it probably is the motor and I am just wasting time asking?? Ideas please........

To take the washer a part to see if it is the pump follow these instructions.

Unplug the washer.

Remove the two screws in the console and flip the console up toward the wall.

Remove the two brassy looking spring clips.

Disconnect the wiring harness to the lid switch.

Open the lid of the washer and tilt the cabinet toward you.

Lift the cabinet and move it out of the way.

You now have access to the pump.

You can operate the washer without the cabinet but you will need the lid switch.

To remove the pump there are two clips that hold the pump in place.

You do not have to remove the hoses.

In the center of the pump where the shaft of the motor go you will be able to check to see if it is seized up.

Here is a link to your washer model llt7144bq0.

hello, I am having the exact same problem with my whirlpool washer (LA7680XMW0). The water is not draining yet there is a hum like it is trying to drain. I also have the burnt rubber smell like the motor is running but just not catching. The line is not clogged. I looked in the back of the washer and there is a green wire that is disconnected from the other three red, blue and white wires. I don't know if thats the problem but considering, I hope its just a disconnected wire instead of a broken drive or belt. Don't know if this helps but let me know if you figure anything out.
