Default Washer - Replace Lid Switch Assembly
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LBT6233DQ0
Age: 5 - 10 years

Washer stops in mid cycle -- when move lid up/down and jostle lid switch, it comes back on. Have ordered Lid Switch assembly ---- how do I replace it on washer?

You will have to remove the cabinet to replace the switch.

To remove the cabinet do the following:

Remove the two screws in the control panel.

There is one in each corner in the front.

Flip the console up toward the wall.

Disconnect the wiring harness.

In the corners of the cabinet you will see two brassy looking clips that are about a half an inch wide.

With a large screwdriver pry the clips out.

Open the lid and grab the cabinet of the washer and tilt it toward you.

Lift it slightly and walk away from the washer.

Remove the screws the hold the switch in place.

Install the new switch and reassemble.
