Question Washer overfilling
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 70 series
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have an older Kenmore 70 series washing machine, probably around 10 years old. The washer will keep filling if I do not shut off the water manually or pull out the knob. It will only agitate if I move the dial to a certain place.

I've been told it was the pressure switch, the water fill sensor or the water fill valve. Anybody have an idea what it could be?

Thanks.

This does sound like your pressure switch.

You will need your model number to order the part.

It is usually just under the lid around the opening where the clothes go in.

Is this something I can repair myself?

Thumbs up kennmore overfilling

Where you adjust your water level for the amount of laundry you are washing is stuck wide open .Replace that water level selector and your problem will be solved
