Brand: Maytag
Model Number: A 482
Age: More than 10 years

My mom's washer fills and agitates but won't empty. She has tried all cycles but with no luck.

This could be caused by the pump or the belt.

If the pump is seized the belt may have burned off.

If you unplug the washer and take out the two screws at the bottom of the front panel you will be able to check the pump and belt.

If these thing check to be fine it could be in the timer.

The pump belt is number 14 on the clutch and belt section.

The pump is number 18 of the pump and motor section.

Thumbs up Washer not emptying

Thanks for your suggestions. The problem was the pump which when replaced did empty the washer.
