Unhappy Washer not agitating/stuck on rinse cycle
Brand: Admiral
Model Number: LNC6760B71
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hi,
My washing machine is doing this: I start my load and the water comes out fine. But it will not agitate. It continues to the spin cycle and that works fine, then on to the rinse cycle, when it gets to rinse cycle, it stays there,(found my kitchen in a pond Sunday!). This happens on all cycle types Wrinkle Free, Delicate, and Cotton. I was told it could possibly be the timer. Any ideas if this could be the problem, or am I looking at something else. Timers are expensive and not refundable, so Im trying to make sure before I invest. Thanks

It sound like what you are saying is the washer fills but the water does not shut off is this why your kitchen was filled with water?

If this is the situation then you have a faulty pressure switch.

If the washer does not think is full it will not agitate.

Here is a link to your washer model LNC6760B71.

I'm really not sure. When the washer fills the first time with water, it does continue on to the spin cycle, but with no agitation. The water does stop and the button continues to move on to the spin cycle which works fine. But when it goes to rinse, the button will not move on to next cycle anymore, and that is when the water keeps on going. I really dont know exactly what to think. does that explain any better what is going on? Thanks

I have to tell Im not sure, maybe not. I just tried to run it through a wash again and this is what I got- Water comes out, it does not agitate, and now it does not appear that the knob is even moving at all on to the next cycle. The other day I could have sworn the knob was moving at least on the spin cycle. But now it seems that it is not moving at all; all it does is fill with water, and thats it the knob does not progress to the next action, and I have to turn it my self or the floor will be full of water again. does this change the answer to my mystery at all? Thanks

This is your pressure switch.

The washer does not know that it has enough water so it will continue to fill.

One other thing you can check but it is still related to the pressure switch.

There is a hose connected to the pressure switch make sure it is still on the switch.

The switch is located in the control panel.

Here is your pressure switch.

The hose should be attached to the gold colored spout.

are you sure it is the pressure switch, because when I clicked on the above picture, it says this is the water level switch. Im gonna try this part first, but I want to make sure this the right part. So, I need the water level switch, right???
