Default Washer Making Loud Noise
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: GLTF1040
Age: 5 - 10 years

My front load washer started to make a very loud noise during the spin cycle. I still washes very quietly, but I used to not hear except for a quiet hum when it was in the spin cycle. Now it is very noisy and can be heard at the other end of the house. Hard to have a conversation when standing near it.
My husband took it appart and thinks it might be the bearing. Are there two bearings? He took the back off and found one, but he thinks there might be another one. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes there are two bearings housed in the rear half of the outer tub.

The bearing are not available without getting the outer tub.

The shaft of the inner tub should be check for damage also.

Here is a link to your washer model GLTF1040as0.
