Cool Washer made grinding noice, not working anymore
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: PAVT244AWW
Age: 1 - 4 years

My Maytag washer was making a squeaking noice with every rotation. Now it sounds like a metal grinding noice with every rotation. Checked it out, looks as if it was coming from the pulley on the underside, rear left. Not sure what that is, looks as if it funneled the water to the drain.

Now the washer quit working, as if it seized up. Not sure what that part is called or how much it would be to fix?

My question is, is it worth fixing? Any help would be great.

Could it possibly be the pump or pump assembly?

Hi,

See if you can turn the pump and motor by hand.

Also you can download the service manual for this washer at ApplianceJunk.com
