When attempting to fill, washer leaks out the bottom. No water makes it into the tub. The washer is so old that I no longer have the booklet and am cluelesss where to start.

Check the water fill valve and the hose that goes from the valve to the tub.

Your washer model number should be on the washer on a metal tag.
