I'll replace both, but do you think that both are currently causing the leak as described? Or, is one the likely culprit and it's just a good preventative maintenance move to replace the other as well since the seal and bearing are are adjacent to each and I'm already "in there" anyway? My thanks in advance!

Sounds like I am having the same problem with a Maytag LAT8714AAE.

Can I also get a copy of your instructions?

See attached picture for location of leak. The leak is in the area of the red rectangle. In the small red rectangle is a droplet of water.

Dan I have a LAT9706 AAE , Are you sure yours is a LAT9406AAE. Well anyway try this take the front panle off and look under the tub where the boot is. That maybe your leaker if you have this mod. SAMMIET!!!!!
