Default Washer just quit
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.22622100
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi, My washing machine just quit while full of water on the rinse cycle. Timer does not move, no noises or motor spinning. This washer has had the water level switch replaced along with the timer. That was 2 years ago. Last Dec., the motor coupling disintegrated and was replaced. Now this has happened. Unit does have power but I can't access much until I bail some water in order to pull it out from wall. Does this sound like a timer(again) issue? Thanks in advance.

It sounds to me like you need a new lid switch. The part # is 3949238. If you need me I can be reached at my website at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

The lid switch is good. The timer started up after I removed and wrung out the wet clothes by hand. The tub drained and spun out. I placed a small load in and it went thru the wash cycle and then just stopped again. After it sits it's like something resets as the timer starts up and then I can hear a click then nothing. I don't think it's a timer problem. The "click" I hear sounds like it is coming from below somewhere.

With your added information, it sounds like the motor is overheating, then when it cools down it comes back on again. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Yeah, I'm thinking it's history for this one. Now it won't do anything after sitting all day. No wash cycle, no nothing. It won't even start to fill up. Most anything down in the motor/gearcase/clutch assy area would cost too much in parts alone for what I can replace it for. It is/was a cheapie and will most likely be replaced with a similiar model. Thanks for all the help.
