Default Washer help!!!!
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 90 series
Age: 5 - 10 years

We have a 2000 Kenmore washer- Heavy Duty Super Capacity Plus Quiet Pak II

at the moment it won't go into the rinse or spin cycles...it fills and agitates it even agitates when set on rinse, but doesn't drain the water and refill for the rinse or drain on the spin.
Last night I used a pencil to press down on the little switch (there is a plastic pin on the lid that presses down when closed to control cycles when open and such) and it finished the cycle fine. I also had done two loads of laundry today with no trouble (didn't press the switch or anything...just set it, turned it on and left it do its job) tonight our roommated decided to do laundry and we have the problem of no real rinse or spin cycles...

I am guessing it is in the switch or knob somewhere...but I don't know much about washer repair....

what is it and how can I fix it are my questions...any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Jenn

It sound like the lid switch has a bad connection or has come loose and is not making contact.

Can you please provide your model number.
