Washer has a funny Smell and Temp Not working Brand: Maytag Model Number: SAV-4 HD Age: 1 - 4 years All of a sudden the washer stopped. A funny smell came from within the washer drum, sorta a plastic or electric smell. Thought it may have been the motor but after about a half hour the unit restarted and ran through a complete cycle. The timer sounded a little louder this time than I recall it, but so did the machine overall.
Given the motor is working my guess is that it is the timer unit. Is it possible that the timer/controls have a overheat shutdown feature, and after cool down re-start?
Any hint of an answer on this little mistery would be appreciated.
