Default Washer goes off balance at last 15 min and shuts off
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: FAV6800AWW
Age: 1 - 4 years

I'm experiencing problems with my Maytag Neptune top loading washer. Seems to work fine until it gets to the last 15 minutes of the cycle then it goes off balance and shuts down leaving the clothes very wet. I opened front panel put it on test on SPIN ONLY cycle with the small load of wet cloths. Checked TUB DISPLACEMENT SENSOR (part#ps890788) - it's working, BASE STRUTS (part #ps890796) seems working fine. Checked without cloth still goes off balance and shuts off. Could the problem be in white plastic ring on top of the spinner, which is filled with some liquid (part#891324)?

After numerous tries to start up spinner cycle, machine stops and shows (dC code), which is a distribute cloths inside. After distributing cloths it is still can not start this cycle. Spinner always goes off balance.

Is the lid locking in the spin cycle?

yes, everything is working normal until the last spin cycle when machin distributes cloths with couple of rotations and when it starts to spin it goes off balance, it stops, disrtibutes cloths again start to spin, goes off balance , did this chain of procedures couple more time and than stops completely, unlockes the lid and shows "dC" code, which means to distribute cloths manualy.

I have the same washer, and I have bad news. There is no possible repair - it's a design flaw - and the only workaround is to fill the washer with clothes every time you use it. Read my more lengthy post on this at http://forums.partselect.com/washer-...ning-4259.html
